What Do You See?
I see a church committed to reaching individuals with a service that is
contemporary to their taste. The atmosphere is informal, warm and alive
with the sight of hugs, sound of laughter mingling with music, praise and
worship. As guests enter our services, they can immediately sense they are
in the midst of a loving fellowship.
I see a church committed to reaching individuals with a service that is
true to the message of God's Word. Scripture will always be the source and
standard of truth in our services.
I see a church committed to reaching individuals with a service that is
relevant to their needs. Great pain is taken to show how the Bible is
every bit as relevant and true today as when it was first written. The
purpose of our message is to bring a life-change, spiritual awareness,
self- actualization and to discover our individual self potential God has
for us.
I see a church emphasizing worship that exalts God. From their homes to
their seats, people will experience an increasing sense of excitement,
anticipating a life-impacting service celebrating our risen Lord. Worship
is emphasized throughout our service.
I envision a church emphasizing discipleship that changes lives.
Sermons are geared toward drawing people (believing and unbelieving)
closer to Christ, however, the greatest "life-change" will take place in
the context a local fellowship.
I see a church committed to raising up a godly generation after us.
Halls will flow with children eager to see that the teacher who hugs them
and knows them by name is a follower of Christ. Rooms will echo with
laughter and song as creative and caring adults take these children on
imaginative adventures and interactive projects which accurately
illustrate God and His love for them. Children will not only know about
God, but come to know His Son, Jesus Christ and actually grow in that
relationship.
I see a church committed to starting other churches, here and abroad,
in order to fulfill our Lord's Commission. From the very beginning,
planting other churches is set forth as our primary missionary thrust. A
residency program is in place, offering practical, hands-on training for
future pastors. And as God begins to transform lives through the saving
message of the gospel and the power of His Spirit, the church itself is a
primary source for future planters.
Finally, I see a church developing strong relationships with other
churches, here and abroad, sending our people and resources as we receive
theirs to benefit from one another's strengths and service in the Lord.
